Fraud Prevention Services
We have implemented and upgraded several fraud prevention services as a way for you to manage, block and approve upcoming transactions to your account. By registering and approving Check and ACH items before they are debited from your account, these services can greatly minimize the occurrence of fraud. You can enroll in these services using the internet banking service or through our mobile app.
Positive Pay
Any check information given to us by the cutoff time of 8 pm EST will be re-presented to you starting from the next business day. By navigating to the review check exceptions menu, you can compare the information that you pre-registered with the check details that were deposited to ensure that any check alterations and unauthorized checks are properly blocked. Click on the check number to confirm the deposited check image to ensure the check numbers, amounts, signatures and payees are all correct.
ACH Transaction Blocker
Just like checks, you can enroll in our ACH Transaction Blocker service to monitor any ACH’s that you have originated from your account. By entering in ACH details through your internet banking service or mobile banking app, we will re-present any incoming or outgoing ACH’s starting from the next business day for you to approve or deny. Verify that the originator’s name, company ID, routing number, and amount match your records before confirming the transaction.

Q: Are there any fees for enrolling in either Fraud Prevention Service?
A: There is a $40 waivable* monthly fee to enroll in the Fraud Prevention Services. The $40 covers both the Positive Pay service and the ACH Transaction Blocker Service.
Q: Who is eligible for the service?
A: All SHBA Customers are eligible for the services and can enroll through Internet Banking
Q: What happens to Exceptions (Check and ACH Items) that were not pre-entered into the system?
A: Customers will be able to view all pre-registered and unregistered items online and make decisions on individual exception items.
Q: What is the cutoff time for registering and approving items (Checks and ACHs)?
A: Registering items has a cutoff of 8:00 pm EST and approval must be done by 3:00 pm local time
Q: What happens if I forget to make a decision before the cutoff time?
A: Any unapproved items after the cutoff time will be subject to return
Q: How do these services work with multi-user (corporate) customers?
A: Only the account admin may enroll for the services, but both Entry and Admin level users may use the rest of the services.
Q: Where can I get Company ID and Routing Number information?
A: Users may contact their local branches for the following information or directly contact the vendors themselves.
Q: If I own multiple different accounts, can I manage transactions for all accounts?
A: Yes, users may choose which accounts to be enrolled in positive pay.
